LEARNING LION BOOKS, INC. (“us,” “we,” “our,” “LLBI,” or the “Company”) operates alpabasa.com (“Site”). We respect and value your privacy, and employ reasonable measures to protect your personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (“DPA”), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and related issuances from the National Privacy Commission (“NPC” or “Commission”).

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed when you visit or make a purchase from the Site. We use your data to provide and improve the Site. By ticking the checkbox prior to the creation of your account, you affirm that you have read this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use, as well as agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information, as herein defined, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We collect several types of information about you to provide and improve the Site.

While using the Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information

Your Personal Information may be processed both by way of computer media and on paper, in compliance with the rules in relation to personal data protection, therein including those relating to data security.

USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect several different types of Personal Information for various purposes to provide and improve our Site to you.

Personal Information, in General

We use the Personal Information that we collect for various purposes, such as:

The Company is a Personal Information Controller under the DPA, which means that it determines what purposes personal information it holds will be used for. It may also be that your personal data is disclosed to third parties pursuant to a data sharing agreement. In which case, such third parties are also the personal information controllers of your personal information.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Information will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security
of your data and other Personal Information.

We may also transfer your Personal Information to third parties as required by law or legal instrument, to protect the Company’s rights or assets, to facilitate acquisition or disposition of the Company’s businesses, and in emergencies where the health or safety of a person is endangered.

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We take extra measures to protect the security of your Personal Information. You can access, modify, and update your Personal Information on our Site through your account, which is protected by an encrypted password. To keep your Personal Information secure, we strongly recommend that you do not share your password with any individual.

Additional measures are in place to ensure the security of your Personal Information. Your Personal Information is stored on a secured server that only our selected personnel and contractors with a Non-Disclosure Agreement with Learning Lion Books Inc., have access to. We encrypt certain sensitive information, such as credit card information, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure that the information is safe as it is transmitted to us.

We strive to protect the privacy of our users and their Personal Information, but no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the complete security of information transmitted to or from the Site, and are not responsible for the actions of third parties that may receive such information.

PRIVACY OF MINORS
If you are a minor below eighteen (18) years old, we are unable to provide you with the Site unless we obtain your consent to this Privacy Policy and any terms and conditions of the Site through your parent, guardian, or any other person exercising parental authority over you. You shall be responsible for obtaining any parental consent necessary for the use of the Site.

You hereby confirm and warrant that you have full legal capacity to enter into contracts and that you are above the age of minority, or that you have obtained parental consent. You further warrant that you are capable of understanding and accepting the terms of this Privacy Policy.

As a parent or legal guardian, you hereby consent to the processing of the minor’s personal data and accept and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and take responsibility for his or her actions. We will not be responsible for any unauthorized use of the Site by yourself, users who act on your behalf, or any unauthorized users. It is your responsibility to make your own informed decisions about the use of the SIte and take the necessary steps to prevent any misuse of the Site.

Upon learning that a minor has used the Site without valid parental consent, we shall immediately delete the account and all the minor’s Personal Information from our system. However, this deletion does not cover information collected in the course of the minor’s use of the Site and does not guarantee that the information provided by a minor was not inadvertently used prior to the deletion.

TRACKING LIMITATIONS
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

YOUR RIGHTS
Under the DPA and its IRR, you have the following rights, which you may exercise at your discretion:
a. The right to access personal information Under the DPA, it is possible for individuals to request access to any of their personal data held by the Company, subject to certain restrictions. A request for disclosure of such information is called a subject access request. Any such requests should be addressed to the Data Protection Officer in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

b. The right to make corrections to personal information The DPA requires the Company to take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal data it processes is accurate and up-to-date. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to the personal information that you have supplied to us during the course of your engagement.

c. The right to object to the processing of personal information. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information, including processing
for direct marketing, automated processing or profiling. You shall also be notified and be given an opportunity to withhold consent to the processing in case of changes or any amendment to the information supplied or declared to you in this Data Privacy Notice. Please note that some of the personal data you have provided to us is necessary for us to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as the Company’s administrative policies and is thus mandatorily required to be collected and processed. Withholding of your consent to the processing of certain personal data may prevent you from availing of certain benefits.

d. The right to erasure or blocking of personal information
You have the right to suspend, withdraw or order the blocking, removal or destruction of your personal information from our filing system.

e. The right to be informed of the existence of processing of personal information
You have the right to be informed whether personal information pertaining to you shall be, is being, or have been processed, including the existence of automated decision-making and profiling.

f. The right to damages
Upon presentation of a valid decision, the Company recognizes your right to be indemnified for actual and verifiable damages sustained due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of personal information, taking into account any violation of your rights and freedoms as a data subject.

DATA RETENTION
Your Personal Information will be retained or stored for as long as the purposes for which they are being processed have not been satisfied. The Company will retain and use your Personal Information as necessary to comply with its legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce its
agreements.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES
Our Site may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites.
